I love Devo's twisted sense of humour. Their tongue in cheek
Akron, Ohio sensibilities are unlike anything else. New Yorkers
have their style, Californians have theirs, but Northern Ohio has its own
distinct personality, and Devo hits the nail on the head. A fabulous rhythm
section drives the guitar and keyboards to the constant bubble bursting of
pomposity and big biz/government all done with subtle sarcasm of Mark Mothersbaugh's
facial expressions. They were pioneers of the video revolution. Unfortunately,
they were the only ones who made great videos. If W.C. Fields was in a rock
band it would have been DEVO!
