These shots were for a poster give-away for the San Jose Mercury
News. To get these, I brought a biker friend with me and we
squirreled our way down front. There was no photo pit. When
we got as close as we could, my huge friend squatted down, I
got on his shoulders, he stood up, I took a roll of film, then
thanked everybody who we blocked, and squirreled our way out.
This one of my most famous pictures, as it captures the essence
of the Stones at their peak.
